Team Members

Thirdwave work with a host of professionals from various industry sectors and specialist fields, bringing you a wide range of experience and expertise.

John Austin

John Austin has spent over 25 years in Training and Development, working across the whole spectrum of diagnosis, delivery and evaluation.

He has worked in most sectors (manufacturing, service, local authority, not for profit, retail etc.), and in all size of organisations. He specialises in the design and delivery of customised, business focussed development and in coaching.

As an ex-shop steward, line manager and Managing Director he is able to communicate empathetically with anyone. He has worked in Germany, Taiwan, China, Turkey, USA and Pakistan as well as in the UK.

He is a qualified coach and NLP practitioner, and a member of Coaches Association, CITD, IOD, Institute of Management and Institute of Customer Service.

Andy Bolt

Andy Bolt specialises in all aspects of communication and personal development.

As an active NLP Practitioner he is able to deliver all aspects of NLP Training and to use NLP in the design and delivery of related development e.g. coaching, negotiation, personal development and performance management.

He is also an approved Myers Briggs practitioner and qualified coach. He has also worked extensively on competency development. With all this and his experience in industry, he is able to bring a really radical but practical approach to client needs.

Rex Davies

Rex Davies has over twenty years experience as a specialist in the diagnosis, design and delivery of trainer-led business solutions.

Whether team-building on the Isle of Man or teaching creative thinking techniques in Shanghai, he brings a range of learning techniques to assist in the development of individuals, groups and organisations.

He is co-author of books on Right-brain Thinking and The Learning Organisation which have been published in German, Spanish, Hungarian, Danish and American editions.

Gez Fletcher

Gez Fletcher adds a unique element to the range of expertise Thirdwave can offer clients.

As a formally trained actor, with extensive experience of television, radio and theatre work, as well as voice overs, he is perfectly equipped to use these skills in the design and delivery of discrete programmes (presentation skills, projection skills etc.) as well as adding high impact sessions on wider programmes.

Gez has designed and delivered various role plays, and has created and acted out scenarios in support of related programmes, e.g. interviewing, customer management, conflict management etc.

At the same time, as an ex BT electrical engineer, Gez has both feet grounded in the reality of organisational life, and is able to deliver stimulating but practical work.

Andy Granston

Andy Granston brings to Thirdwave over twelve years of experience in both designing and delivering bespoke training solutions in a variety of sectors, including leisure, financial, retail and public sector.

He works with Thirdwave after a successful career in Retail Management, during which he worked as Operations Manager at B&Q.

After moving into the training department he worked in a small and select team with the aim of designing and implementing the B&Q training function, known as the ‘B&Q University

Andy is a qualified Master Coach, and enjoys using training and coaching to enable organisations to improve business performance.

Sean Heneghan

Sean Heneghan has been an Organisational Development consultant for more than seven years. Prior to this he was a senior manager in a large UK retailer

Sean has a Masters Degree in Occupational Psychology and uses this to help organisations and individuals in organisational change and employee development initiatives.

Sean has experience of designing and delivering training and development to a large variety of organisations from sectors such as Public Organisations, FTSE 100 companies, Retailers, Charity and voluntary organisations.

Sean is a member of the Division of Occupational Psychologists and Founding Member of the Coaching Psychology Division. He is a licensed practioner in the use of a broad range of psychometric instruments and methodologies.

Jane Nichols

Jane Nichols has worked within learning and development functions for both private and public sector businesses for the last 12 years. Jane has a proven track record on all aspects of the training cycle and has analysed, designed, delivered and evaluated courses including soft-skills training and management development.

Jane's role within Thirdwave is managing large public-sector organisations and she understands the importance of ensuring clients get the best learning interventions for their specific requirements

Jane is CIPD qualified and also holds recognised qualifications in NLP, life coaching and counselling. Jane is currently studying for a Psychology degree.

Mandi Robertson

Mandi Robertson has worked with Thirdwave for more than twelve years. During this time she has designed and facilitated a huge variety of bespoke development programmes - from action based graduate development initiatives through business wide change programmes to 1:1 executive coaching.

Mandi is a committed and challenging coach and an empathetic facilitator. She has worked with most sectors including retail, local government, manufacturing, advertising/brand strategy and construction.

Prior to joining our team, Mandi had a successful HR and L&D career with the NHS, BBC, Prudential Corp and Kingfisher.

She has an MA in Management Learning.

Mike Stacey

Mike Stacey adds a number of skills and capabilities to the Thirdwave Team.

As well as having 20 years plus experience in the design and delivery of Training and Development, he is also a registered assessor for Investors in People (IIP). Mike is well qualified to give informed advice and consultation to organisations undergoing or considering IIP accreditation.

He is also a registered user of Thomas International Personality Profiling Systems, and therefore able to administer this psychometric tool and advise individuals and companies appropriately.

Tony Thomson

With more than 24 years dealing with business development and training, Tony Thomson can provide real world examples of good practice. With a teaching qualification, an MBA in Corporate Strategy, and with most of the last 20 years runnng his own businesses with considerable success, Tony can match real world experience to the underlying theoretical thinking that underpins business success.

Having worked in technical and business roles, Tony understands the importance of providing the correct development programmes for all staff, whether for the MD, an engineer, a call centre operator or the receptionist.

Tony has organised and run courses in China, USA, South Africa, UK and various places in Europe and has helped SMEs and larger companies develop and implement coherent business development strategies geared towards achieving success
